Jay H. Kaufman, D.P.M.,
F.A.C.F.A.S.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Dr. Kaufman attended King's College,
where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He received his
Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Temple University School of Podiatric
Medicine.
Dr. Kaufman completed his surgical training on the foot and ankle at
Coast Plaza Doctor's Hospital in Norwalk, California.
Here he gained expertise in foot and ankle surgery, including arthroscopic
ankle and endoscopic surgical techniques.
Upon completion of his surgical training, Dr. Kaufman further enhanced
his training in diabetic and vascular foot and ankle complications with
extensive training while in private practice on the campus of Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania.
Today, Dr. Kaufman's interest lies with diabetic and vascular
complications as related to the development of new and existing leg and
foot wounds.
As part of his commitment to providing excellent quality health care to
his patients, Dr. Kaufman routinely attends seminars dealing with the
latest development in foot and ankle surgery, including seminars at
Harvard Medical School focusing on diabetic foot and wound healing.
Dr. Kaufman is Board Certified in Foot Surgery by the American Board of
Podiatric Surgery. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of
Podiatric Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle
Surgeons. He is also a member of the American College of Foot and
Ankle Pediatrics, and a member of the American Diabetes Association.
Dean L. Sorrento, D.P.M., F.A.C.F.A.S.
Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Sorrento
graduated from St. Joseph’s University with a Bachelor of
Science in Biology. He received his Doctorate of Podiatric
Medicine from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine,
where he graduated with honors.
He completed an extensive four-year
residency in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery and trauma at
the University of Pennsylvania Health System/ Presbyterian
Medical Center and Temple University Children’s Hospital both in
Philadelphia, PA.
Dr. Sorrento’s training encompasses all
aspects of foot and ankle reconstruction, including complex
adult and pediatric foot and ankle acquired and congenital
deformities, diabetic limb salvage (Charcot reconstruction),
high arch and flatfoot deformities, trauma (ankle and foot
fractures) and neuromuscular disorders.
A Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery
at Penn State College of Medicine, Dr. Sorrento has published in
peer-reviewed journals and co-authored a chapter in a leading
textbook in foot and ankle surgery.
Dr. Sorrento is Board Certified in both
foot surgery and rearfoot/reconstructive ankle surgery by the
American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the
American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
Dr. Sorrento welcomes new patients and
patients seeking second opinions, including failed and
revisional surgery.
